    • inherited much land from his father, and by in 1698, his father-in-law conveyed to them the south half of a house and lot in Concord, where John S. Keyes lived about 1885. Appointed to a committee to plant 30 trees for shade on the sheep common - penalty for anyone cutting one of the trees was 10 shillings.

       
      From records he appeared to be a man of superior business acumen. He was a field driver (hayward) in 1696, fence viewer in 1700 and field driver again in 1702 and 1708. His estate was worth 520 pounds.
