- Hawise (or Helwise) de Lancaster, only child, Baroness Kendal, living Sep 1226; m. bef. 20 Jul 1189, Gilbert Fitz Rogert Fitz Reinfrid, Lord of Kendal, 1189, who had m. (1) ca. 1156, Rohaise, daughter of William de Rumare, and widow of Gilbert de Gaunt, who d. 1156. Gilbert was Steward to Henry II, in France 1180-89, and later to Richard I; was justice of the King's Court 1185, sheriff of Lancashire 1205-1216, and of Yorkshire 1209-1212, and d. bef. 13 Jun 1220. His father Roger Fitz Reinfrid, was witness to the King's will, Judge 1176, 1198, sheriff of Sussex 1176, and of Berkshire 1186-7. [Ancestral Roots, line 88-27]
