As per the Bio of Dr. Samuel Outwater ( 1924). Thomas in conjunction with N.Kip and R.Van Horn purchased tract 2 of the land grant at Monachie,Bergen Co.NJ, and later,purchased their shares. Thomas Outwaters Will dated Feb 15,1751 at Monachie,in the Precinct of New Barbadoes,Bergen Co.and Proved Mar. 23,1763. Thomas divided his estate as follows,children of my son Frans,deceased,Thomas, Catharine,Yonete and Mary 1/9, my son John 1/9, my son Jacob 1/9 my son Peter 1/9, my son Thomas,deceased,his children Catherine, Thomas, Mary, Jacobus and Anetie 1/9, my grandson Thomas Romeyn 1/9,children of my daughter Elisabeth 1/9, the children of daughter Yueke,namely Roelef, Geret and Dericke 1/9,my daughter Ann, 1/9 and my daughter Trintie 1/9. His property was laid out in 8 lots,and son Jacob was to have lots 1,4,5,and 7 and the children of son Thomas deceased,were to have lots 2,3,6 and 8. Children not mentioned, Marykin and Andries,who probably died young. Children who pre-deceased Thomas in 1753 were, Frans, Thomas, Elisabeth, wife of Claas Romeyn and Yueke,wife of Johannes Van Houten
From: David De Stefano May 2005 | So how is it that most of the people mentioned early in the page are still buried in the family cemetery in Carlstadt, NJ. The area is becoming over run with industry, the cemetery is now in ruins. I only ask because it intrigues me. I recently stumbled upon it while at an adjacent store, and saw someone visiting it. |
