  Franz Reuter 1838-1892 Taken at time of departure for the United States (1856) Believed all three sons left for the US during a political controversy, evidently when Germany gained control of Bavaria around 1855. Came to Ill. by invitation of the Schmidt family who had been neighbors in Strasstich, Baveria..   Franz arrived in America on the Elizabeth Demson, sailing from Antwerp to New York on Dec 17, 1856. (listed as: Reuter, Franz - 22 M Farmer - no town listed.   Frank and John Reuter were among the original 6 members of the Brother Grove of the U. A. O. D. in Peoria, Ill in 1867   There is a Frank Reuter in Peoria in 1890-92: Frank Reuter - carpenter - boards 401 Smith - Peoria IL 1891, 1892, buthe was born about 1852.
