"I have a scrap of paper, an "order" really, signed by BG Jedediah Huntington and COL Zebulon Butler dated 28 Jan 1783 from West Point, NY. It says, "Capt Edward Eells of the first Connecticut Regiment is recommended for Leave of Absence until the fifteenth of April next, to visit his family." "I have researched and found a lot of info on General Huntington and Colonel Butler but yours is the only reference to an Edward Eells that I could find on the internet. " (email from Kevin Belmont Dec 2007)
