| Notes |
We have now found the proper father for Amaziah Hart (2004 ADH jr) We knew from John Hart's (b: 1742) will that he had a grandson Amaziah Hart. However, this excerpt from the History of McClean County for Walter Rogers provided the clue needed:
| Historical Encyclopedia of Illinois page 2-1269 | His Walter Rogers maternal grandparents were Amaziah Hart and Louisa Gooding, natives, respectively, of Virginia and Kentucky, who came to Peoria County in 1844, the wife dying in the following year and the husband in 1847. His great-grandparents were David Hart and Hannah (Jones) Hart, the former born in the Old Dominion and dying there; but the widow, also a daughter of Virginia came to Peoria County with her son and his family and afterward removed with her grandchildren to McClean County where she died at the advanced age of ninety-four years. Amaziah Hart and his wife, the maternal grandparents, had five sons and four daughters, and of the former John and James died as soldiers of the Civil War - John, as the result of wounds and James from disease. Louisa Gooding, the maternal grandmother, was a daughter of Abram Gooding, a native of Virginia who came to Maysville, Ky., where he spent his last days with his wife (Louisa Addison), dying in Virginia. |
| email from Jolene (Knoles) Abrahams | At the Kentucky state History Library in Frankfort, Kentucky, a file entitled “Hart”, Volume I, Compiled by Dola M. Caldwell, Kirksville, Missouri. Dola compiled her Hart family which starts with John Hart (b 1742). On one of the pages she states “this David is the son of John Hart, Dola’s ancestor, and Amaziah is David’s son). While I understand this is not proof it is the next best thing, someones ancestor. |
