came to New Haven, Ct, 1640 or 43; removed to Stratford, purchased house and lot, 1660; freeman 1669; town crier, 1671; King Philip's War; m. Mary, dau. of Thomas STAPLES, of Fairfield.
In 1639 there came from England three brothers, Richard,John and Thomas - who settled in New Haven, Ct. where Thomas in 1654, married Sarah, daughter of Richard Platt, and of their children one son, John, was born and died. Death date could have been Jan. Another record says he was born in 1623 in Derbyshire, Devon,England.
