• Notes

  The 1860 Shawano Co. census for Richmond Township lists John Darrrow's Family living next to the John Hughes Family. A review of the Darrow Children's ages shows that Sophia is too old to be his daughter and to young to be the mother of the other children. It is therefore assumed that Johns wife died prior to 1860 and he married Sophia Hughes. This union produced Katherine J. in 1862, Elizabeth in 1863 and possibly James in 1868.Richard, Ranson, and Thomas were sons from his first wife.
