  Immigrated to the US in 1854. Came directly to Wisconsin, where his father was in the hardware business until his death.   He established his general hardware business in 1876. Lived at 304 Park Place in Waukesha Wisconsin during 1900 and 1910 census. Was elected Register of Deeds for Waukesha County in 1892.
